The keyboard is notorious for being a hoarder of dust and grime. You can run the sticky side of the sticky note in between the keyboard gaps. It will indeed remove the incredible amount of dirt that is seated in between the keys.

Washing of Coffee Stained Cups

Your employees can get busy, and washing their cups can be their least priority. The use of baking soda will do the trick. You have to merely put the baking soda into the stained cup, and fill it halfway with water.

Scrub it using a toothbrush, then let it sit for five to ten minutes. Once it is done, rinse the cup with warm water and be surprised by the result.

A Remedy for your Sticky Desk

You can start by dabbing a cloth into warm water and adding a small amount of oil. Scrub your way through until the sticky, yucky feeling is gone.

We became a victim of smelly food containers once in our lives. This can be a very challenging situation when we set ourselves to have lunch with our colleagues, and the smelly food container steals the fun from lunch.

Another work of wonder thanks to the baking soda. Mix the baking soda in one part water and apply the mixture to your food containers. Let it sit for one minute and rinse it with soap and water.

Dealing with Dirty Computer Screens

Microfibre cloths suck up dirt and dust more effectively than any fabric. Run the cloth across the screen from top to bottom following a zigzag pattern. Make this cleaning a habit, and you will be surprised at how bright your day can start.

Keeping Your Office a Haven

Believe in Frequent Handwashing

We all know by now that the COVID-19 virus lives depending on what type of surfaces it landed on. We could not exempt ourselves from washing hands, especially if we touched common touchpoints. Protecting ourselves should be our top priority and on the other hand, washing your hands means that you care for the other people around you.

You do not want to be the source of spreading the virus. Wash your hands as often as you can.

One-Way Wipe Pattern

Clean your office space by using a one-way wipe pattern. You need to wipe a surface only in one direction going down.

Do not go over it again towards the end or in the opposite direction because it will deposit the germs that were just wiped down. Routinely wipe down all frequently touched surfaces like file folders, desks, and door handles.

Clean your Office Fridge Regularly

Rotting food kept in the office fridge is a sure source of harmful bacteria and viruses. Be responsible enough to put your leftover food in the trash if you do not have any more plans of consuming them.

Most office goers are too preoccupied with their work, and some of them may forget that they have placed something inside the fridge.

Before you know it, it has turned blue. Cleaning service also provides fridge cleaning, and you can advise the cleaners that they have all the rights in the world to throw rotting food away.

Practice Color-Coding Cleaning

Most cleaning companies in Australia are familiar with this practice. Colour-coding cloths and mops are very crucial to make sure that there is no room for cross-contamination.

It would be best if you used a different cloth for wiping your desk and at the same time, another cloth for wiping the toilet seat. Do not ever confuse a kitchen cloth with a toilet cloth.

Use of Disinfectants

Familiarize yourself with what disinfectants can do. There are a lot of disinfectants that are approved by the Australian Government for office sanitising services.

One of the common disinfectants is household bleach, and you can mix it with water. You can mix five tablespoons of bleach per gallon of water. This mixture is suitable for floors and other large surfaces.

You can also mix four teaspoons of bleach per quart of water for small surfaces and items like picture frames, wall decors, and other fixtures.

Let Us Talk About Organic Cleaning!

Eco-friendly cleaning is divided into two categories – eco-friendly cleaning tools and the actual cleaning products.

One of the benefits of cleaning naturally is you are not exposing your health to hazardous chemicals. It is also less dangerous and less toxic.

To save money, keep your cleaning products as basic as possible. Organic cleaning supplies are incredibly important to preserve nature.

It is not unusual anymore, and everybody is doing it and expects it. This is becoming an industry standard.

Using organic solutions and supplies are recyclable and kind to the Earth. They are also safe for pets and children.

It is going to improve and increase the longevity of your life span and your lungs if you are using non-toxic products. Water is the safest agent.

Although organic supplies and products cannot be used as an all-purpose cleaner, you cannot use this product if you are to clean a neglected office as it requires more potent chemicals.

Baking soda and vinegar will not do the job. Non-toxic cleaning supplies are best for routine or maintenance jobs. They are not designed for deep clean.
Everybody needs to be using organic products.

A lot of these are very inexpensive. You can mix your cleaner, depending on your purpose and choice.

We recommend that you set up your tiny mixing station with all your organic cleaner and tools.

You can mix a big gallon of your DIY cleaner and bring it as you go through your day, and refill it when you are done. It is super easy, and the mixture is consistent every single time.

If you are diluting your cleaning solution, you have to follow the notes as the manufacturer’s label instructed it.

You cannot guess which product needs to go with a different outcome as it may affect the quality of your cleaning.

If you follow the instructions and hire someone new to do the job, you can pass the excellent habit of mixing the product to that person. This person can follow the instructions and get the same results.

As a cleaner, you need to make sure that you are also taking care of yourself. Using organic products and not just relying on cleaning chemicals can ensure you long life and a safer work environment.

Imagine that you are doing this job for many years and you will be exposed to toxic chemicals.

How do you feel about it? The harmful fumes of these chemicals will intoxicate your lungs. You will not last very long in this business.

We have seen professional cleaners who were rushed to the emergency room because of being in contact with harmful chemicals.

Rule of thumb, if you cannot help but use a more potent chemical, you need to make sure that you are using the appropriate protective equipment to protect yourself.

So that is my two cents for the day. I was hoping you could share your chemical-free cleaning techniques and let us help the world recover.

4.9/5 - (78 votes)

Building work and construction like repair, renovation, construction of a new build will create and leave behind debris, dust, and a tremendous amount of debris which can leave the area looking untidy and unsafe.

There are a lot of after-builder cleaners that offer a thorough and comprehensive post-after-builders cleaning service to remove dust build-up and debris, both internally and externally.

The job is to ensure that premises or property is clear, clean and ready for use. Post-construction cleaning applies to both business and home cleaning. The cleaning bill can be a bit expensive because the amount of work is demanding. For home post-construction cleaning, the commercial cleaners will make sure that the construction site is safe to all family members.

It will include cleaning of all surfaces and areas. The cleaner’s job is to ensure that light switches, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, door handles are free from dust and dirt.

For building and other businesses, the service provider works to pretty much ensure that all surfaces and everything that is inside the premise are clean and safe.

Cleaners in Australia provide their phone number, name, email addresses, and other contact information for you to find them. Good air quality should be flowing throughout. Join us and let us talk about what commercial and industrial cleaners do during pre and construction cleaning.

Why Do You Need to Hire Professional Cleaners for Post-Construction Cleaning?

After Builders cleaning is difficult and can consume time and resources, you will not get your desired result if you give the job to someone who is not knowledgeable about this field. Here are the top answers to your whys.

  • Commercial companies employ experienced cleaners who know how to handle situations in the post-
  • construction cleaning.
  • Experienced cleaners can offer varieties of cleaning techniques.
  • Cleaning companies offer a survey, and they will value your feedback based on the job that they perform.
  • Commercial and industrial cleaners can provide you with a significant character reference that can vouch for their services.

Apart from the workload, post-construction jobs leave dust and debris that can present serious health hazards. Risk assessment is essential before you accept an after-builder’s job.

After builders cleaning should include wiping different surfaces like stainless steel counters and a lot more. As an industrial cleaner, you are also expected to clean tiles, windows, skirting boards, and furniture.

Different Types of After-Build Cleaning

Settlement Cleaning – This is also called the final clean. It is similar to a deep cleaning where the cleaners have to ensure that all corners and every surface are immaculate from top to bottom. Settlement cleaning ensures that the place is safe for the occupants. No one can do this job as perfect as a professional can.

Pre-build Cleaning – Construction companies typically hire professional cleaners to clean and prepare for construction. It will secure the health and safety of the construction worker since we know the dangers and hazards that can be present during the construction.

The cleaning service provider will ensure that floors and light fixtures are ready so that the people constructing the project can work freely and safely.

Initial Cleaning – This type of cleaning extracts the dirt, dust, and rubbish that accumulated during the construction. Most of these cleanings are done during the closing stages of a project.

Maintenance Cleaning – This type of cleaning is where the construction company hires a regular service provider that will clean while they work on the construction.

This one is the suggested method, but most construction companies choose not to do this because it can result in an expensive cleaning bill. The maintenance cleaners will make sure that all of the areas are clean and safe for the construction people.

Practical After-Build Cleaning Tips

  • Start by focusing on removing all dust and debris left behind from the construction. Starting with the dust and debris will make sure that it will not get into the air ducts. All post-construction works produce dust. Layers of dust will make the areas and floors look old.
  • Vacuum all carpets and upholstery with a high-quality vacuum cleaner. Professional cleaners give attention to details. If you ignore this, dust and dirt will settle making the floors, areas and surfaces look filthy.
  • Remove and vacuum each one of the furniture cushion frames. Repeat the process if you feel that there is a need to do so.
  • Thoroughly wipe down all dust from all surfaces and floors from top to bottom. You can start by dry dusting the walls.
  • Next to dust are mouldings and cabinet areas. In doing so, start from the inside first. Pay closer attention to hard-to-reach areas. Wipe off the countertops and other flat surfaces. Finish off by sweeping visible dust and mopping the hard floors.
  • Cleaning air vents and replacing filters is crucial after the renovation or construction. Remove the vent covers and wash each one with soap and warm water. Let them dry thoroughly after the process.
  • Make sure to clean any other furniture or items that are exposed during the construction. Even the smallest thing can retain dust and debris.

How to Quote the After Builder’s Cleaning

This is one of the questions that are frequently asked by cleaning companies that are new to the trade. There is no secret formula for this.

The cleaning company can only dictate the cost of the after-builder’s cleaning. Some cleaning companies do not understand the factors that they need to consider in doing this type of cleaning. Always think about the cleaning industry when quoting your price. You shouldn’t devalue the market to win the project.

Do not quote based on square metres! – Pricing by the square is not always applicable after builders clean. It can only be used if we are talking about an empty floor.

This a rare case after builders clean since most of the time the floors are all covered with dust and dirt that are not easy to get rid of. It would help if you evaluated how much amount of time will be spent cleaning what’s on that floor.

Visit the site before and after the quote has been accepted. – Visiting the area is so crucial for accurate pricing. It is also essential for you to visit the site after you confirmed the contract. It will finalize the price that you quoted, and it will also ensure that there will be no changes in what the customer requires.

Quote from experience – One of the best sayings is “Charge to experience”. It will always be right in the cleaning industry. If you have never done a builder’s cleaning project in the past, it will be challenging for you to understand all the dynamics that play an essential part in your pricing.

If you are new to the trade, we suggest that you visit the site with someone you know that is experienced in this kind of job and learn from what they are about to tell you. That person will give you the idea of how to price your job correctly—having someone who is experienced can lead your team.

Get to Pre-Meet – Be competitive with your pricing. People buy from people. Attend the meeting and get shortlisted. Always prove your worth and show that your workmanship is beyond compare.

If you are not having many returns on pricing and getting shortlisted, you need to adjust your price to at least 20 per cent cheaper than your current cost.

When you get face-to-face with the decision-maker, you can gauge if they are interested in what you are offering. If the pricing does not work, and they are not willing to work with you, turn down the work and do not undersell your value.

Chemicals, Tools, and Equipment needed for After Builder’s Cleaning

1. Cleaning Chemicals – you need a chemical that is strong enough for industrial cleaning. We recommend that you get a cleaning chemical that works the same way as a disinfectant does.

Not all-purpose cleaners can be used as disinfectants. By buying cleaning chemicals that can clean and disinfect at the same time, you can also save money on chemical expenses. You can use this chemical for toilets, kitchens, and offices. You can also use this for a mopping solution.

Cleaning chemicals may include baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and other chemicals that can remove elbow grease and other impurities on the surface. You can also use this chemical for cleaning lighting fixtures.

2. Spray Bottles – See to it that all of your spray bottles are labelled depending on what type of chemicals it contains. Make sure that the nozzle of each bottle is commercial grade and rights reserved. Get a quality spray bottle that you can use efficiently.

3. Measuring Tool – You need to have this tool, especially if you are quoting by square footage. You can also use a laser measurement.

4. Mop Heads – We recommend you purchase and use a microfiber string mop head because they absorb the water better, unlike cotton ones.

5. Toilet Bowl Cleaners – If the all-purpose cleaner failed to do its job on the toilet, you need to use a more potent chemical like the toilet bowl cleaner. It can remove the deep-seated dirt that accumulated on the sides of the bowl.

6. Vacuum Bags – This item is applicable for both upright vacuum cleaners and backpack vacuum cleaners.

7. Flat mops and microfibre pads – Flat mops are best for dry mopping and cleaning hard-to-reach wall areas. This type of mop can also finish the job faster than the traditional mop head because of its coverage.

8. Mop Bucket – You have this to store clean and dirty water as you mop hard surfaces.

9. Toilet Brush – You should keep this handy because some customers do not have this available in their toilets.

10. Dust Mop – It will allow you to dust high, hard-to-reach surfaces. Dusting air vents is possible with this tool. It can also help you dust ceiling fans and ceiling corners. Dust mops also come with extenders.

11. Broom and Dustpan you need to have this to pick up loose dust and debris from the floor.

12. Microfibre Cloth – They work the best on any type of surface. Microfibre cloths pick up dust and moisture efficiently compared to cotton cloths. Colour coding of microfibre cloths is recommended to prevent cross-contamination.

13. Cleaning Cart – This cart will make it easier for you to transport all of the things that you need to clean. You can quickly move around the area if you have this trolley with you.

How To Professionally Clean An Aged Care Facility

Rate this post

Housekeeping is an essential part of the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. The contamination of surfaces or objects in aged care facilities can cause isolated or epidemic infectious processes.

Residents admitted to aged care facilities are often vulnerable to risks of infection. Sydney Commercial Cleaners have to work on optimising the level of hygiene in the environment to keep everyone safe and well.

Infection control is the number one priority in cleaning an aged care facility. Cleaners need to protect their residents from cross-contamination. Many industrial cleaning companies in Australia provide aged-care cleaning.

Residents in this kind of setting usually are sensitive to germs and other pathogens. Cleaners have to be very careful with how they clean their surroundings.

Some residents can get irritated with the cleaning chemicals that are used as cleaning products. Reading the product label is part of the cleaning process to ensure that the residents and the cleaners alike are safe.

How Do You Keep a Nursing Home Clean?

Preparing the Cleaners’ Trolley

Upon arrival, cleaners consult the table of products and the protocol for alternating between detergents and disinfectants. Some rules are immutable. Gloves are mandatory for all contact with products as part of the cleaning standards.

Never mix cleaning products because this can create dangerous chemical reactions. When using dilution equipment, ensure that it is well-maintained and kept in good condition.

Always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions and renew cleaning solutions accordingly. Observe the temperature and contact time indicated.

Cleaners and staff cleaning in the aged care facility prepare their trolley by selecting the equipment they need to perform all the care services scheduled tasks. Staff uses equipment in good condition, clean, and in compliance with safety regulations. Organising the trolley is as follows:

  • Put the cleaning equipment at the top. This includes cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, sprays, and wipes.
  • Cleaning reserves are stored in the middle. This includes toilet paper, gloves, and hand sanitisers.
  • Put the brush and shovel on the dirty shelf or bottom shelf. This includes the bucket for dirty swabs, wipes, and mops.
  • Support for brooms and mop handles are located at the side of the trolley.
  • The lid of the rubbish container can be removed by foot to avoid using the hand in handling the rubbish.
  • One of the best cleaning practices is not to use sponges, coconut brooms, and wooden handles for cleaning aged care facilities.

Standard Method in Bedroom Maintenance in Aged Care Facilities

Hand hygiene is essential before cleaning, after cleaning, and whenever it is required, especially in changing gloves. The care environment for the aged care setting is crucial.

  • Ventilate the room once the resident steps out. Offer them the option when they are around while the cleaning takes place. Cover the patient if necessary.
  • Dispose of the waste first.
  • Descaling products and disinfectants for aged care require contact time. Cleaning practices always mention that contact time must be followed to ensure that the care environment is maintained.
  • Staff begins by applying disinfectant to give it time to work. Follow a logical sequence in cleaning the aged care facilities. It needs to be from a clean area to a dirty room and from top to bottom.

Wet Sweeping High Surfaces

  • Use a combined disinfectant and detergent to wet wipe higher surfaces.
  • Wipe in a single pass.
  • Spray the wipe and not the surfaces to limit and reduce aerosol dispersion and penetration to moisture-sensitive materials such as telephones.
  • Turn and change the wipes between each area and between each room across the facility.
  • Allow drying
  • For daily maintenance of the facility, areas commonly touched are wiped to reduce the risk of spreading germs by hands
  • After changing cleaning cloths, care facilities staff will wet wipe higher surfaces in the bathroom using the same pattern.
  • Aged care cleaners change wipes according to a pre-established colour code. They wipe and rinse according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Pre-treated gauze is sometimes needed in wet sweeping in aged care. Since it is moist, it needs to remain in its packaging until it is time for the cleaning staff in the facility to use it. Aged care cleaner needs to place a single piece of gauze under the sole of the broom. Wet sweeping should start at the farthest point away from the entrance of the room. In a small space with not so much furniture, wet sweeping is done in a semi-circular fashion. This method retrieves 90 per cent of loose dirt on dry and smooth floors—wet sweeping limits the take-off of dirt into the atmosphere.
  • In cleaning aged care, never lift the broom. Remove the used gauze from the brush on the threshold. Lock the dirt in by folding the gauze. Dispose of the gauze in the rubbish bin.

Flat Mopping

Like any washing procedure in a cleaning aged care facility, flat mopping is preceded by wet sweeping.

The flat mop relies on a chemical and mechanical action to remove the dirt adhering to the floor and the microorganisms they carry.

When using a detergent disinfectant, there is also a specific disinfectant action. This gives visual and microbiological cleanliness.

The technique is the same as for wet sweeping. The cleaner began with the most distant part of the room and performed semi-circular movements. The mop is removed at the door.

Cleaning in aged care facilities is effectively done in the progressive method. It is by verifying the correct operation of equipment to be left and placed in aged care facilities.

Moreover, some tasks constitute more in-depth maintenance which requires planning. This includes the vents, tops of wardrobes, or the thorough cleaning of beddings.

Cleaning staff are needed to brush sanitary installations and wooden furniture. Cleaning in an aged care setup can be challenging but rewarding. Imagine your contribution to the health and wellness of our seniors.

Commercial cleaning companies are offering these services to many aged care facilities. If you want to know more about the necessary knowledge in aged care cleaning, please feel free to drop a comment.

To my fellow owners, please share your tips and experience on how you became successful in this venture and let us help the newly established businesses. The commercial cleaning world needs more people to guard the public and ensure a safe and healthy environment.

We all know the effects of Coronavirus worldwide, and we need to look after ourselves by keeping good hygiene and by maintaining a clean working environment.

There are still active cases of the pandemic, COVID-19, in Sydney, NSW. It significantly affects the business district as a lot of offices were forced to seize operations.

How do Australians combat these deadly pathogens? Most businesses hire professional office cleaning services that will do the office disinfection services of their premises.

Join us as we talk about everything that you need to know about the world of commercial cleaning in Sydney focusing on how we, the commercial cleaners, protect you and your employees from COVID-19.

COVID Scare Vs. Cleaning Services

Have you ever heard of the saying, “One man’s panic, is another man’s gold mine”? This is true for a commercial cleaning company. They are getting the attention of all the businesses and households. Mostly, because a lot of people had gone crazy over the deadly effects of the Coronavirus.

A lot of commercial cleaning companies receive inquiries more than they can handle. Opportunities are from left to right. We have talked to one of the major cleaners in Sydney, and we learned that they are deep cleaning more than a hundred businesses every day since the start of this pandemic.

Cleaning and disinfecting the proper way are proven to slow the spread of COVID-19. They sanitize and clean high touch point areas to kill the germs and viruses that can contaminate a place and spread the disease to all those who work in that space.

Companies that offer covid cleaning jobs services in Sydney see the opportunity in this situation. Cleaning services can be expensive but think about the peace of mind that they will give you.

Personal Protective Equipment for COVID-19 Cleaning

If you are going to be part of the cleaning staff, the appropriate use of PPE is critically important to your safety and the safety of the people working in the space that you are cleaning. Employees of commercial cleaning can use gloves, gowns, face shields, eye protection, and masks.

Importance of PPE in Coronavirus Cleaning

It protects the cleaner by creating a barrier between them and the Coronavirus COVID-19.
PPE protects people by preventing the spread of infection.

With certain precautions, cleaners put on the PPE before you clean and you take it off after and before you leave the premise, so you do not spread it to other places.

This is the best practice for droplet precautions. Remember that Coronavirus may be airborne, and you need to ensure that you only take your mask off after you went out of the room or an office and you had closed the door.

How To Clean During COVID- 19

Now that you know that PPE is essential if you want to succeed in this business let us talk about the proper way of cleaning during this pandemic.

We are aware that our primary goal is to provide coronavirus cleaning services to businesses and establishments. The CDC had set new guidelines and recommendations on how to do this type of cleaning correctly.

First, we need to identify the critical parts of the office that requires our attention. These are items like door handles, light switches, and other things that are often touched.

To take an efficient approach, if no one in the office has been infected, you can say that this place is safe. You will carry out the standard coronavirus cleaning and disinfection process to continuously protect yourself and the people who work there. You may use the simple bleach solution as your primary disinfectant to be successful in your COVID-19 cleaning.

Let us assume that someone in that office has been sick or presumed to might have been infected with COVID-19, the first thing that a cleaner has to do is to open all the windows and get as much air circulation as possible.

Let the sunshine and the fresh air in. When we clean and disinfect in the commercial office, we need to put gloves on. We mustn’t mix chemicals, and we will use any of the standard EPA authorized disinfectants.

Commercial cleaning companies can also mix their bleach solution as disinfectants. You may use this to disinfect all hard surfaces cleaning. These are not chemicals that need to come in contact with your skin. These are natural chemicals to use.

This is also the best time to upsell air duct and vents cleaning.

Some cleaners are cautious about using bleach for cleaning. We do not want this chemical spilling on our skin or into our eyes. Bleach solutions indeed tend to discolour both fabrics and hard surfaces over time. Soap and water are very effective as one of the first lines of defence against CoronaVirus.

Commercial cleaning does not require the use of chemicals with substantial toxicity. Soap and water will envelop and crush the COVID that may be lurking in your office very efficiently.

Soap contents desiccants surface tension where the soap molecules get into the lipid membrane of the Coronavirus and inactivate it.

We need to assume that any publicly touched surfaces such as elevator buttons, door handles, public phones, keyboards, and the desk that employees lean on, are all infected. Whether it is Coronavirus or any other virus, we need to make sure that all surfaces receive the proper amount of disinfection.

How to Clean After COVID?

As the number of COVID-19 climbs, so as the number of businesses, schools, and other establishments requiring deep cleaning and disinfection.

This can be in a normal office set-up or in large manufacturing firms. What should businesses, factories, and schools do if someone has been exposed to COVID-19?

It takes a fully encapsulated suit, three pairs of gloves, knee pads, one-time use rags, and a full-face respirator to safely sanitize and disinfect a contaminated office with a known COVID case, using the universal precaution method designed by the government.

Commercial cleaning companies’ phones are ringing off the hook because of the demand for their Sydney commercial cleaning services. Cleaning in a COVID confirmed area is dangerous. Commercial cleaning companies need to clean the office in all its areas.

Commercial Cleaning Sydney is also known to offer different cleaning techniques to combat COVID-19. Some use fogging. Others use UV light. Different disinfection methods are now being put to the test to know which ones are effective for COVID-19 cleaning services.

How to Fight CoronaVirus?

Without the whole talk of commercial cleaning, how can a person protect himself against the deadly COVID?

  • Wash your hands – a relatively easy thing! You have to turn the water on, get some handsoap, make sure that you spent time and wash your thumbs.
  • Keep your cell phones clean and sanitized. This is something that you touch many times every day. Take a disinfecting wipe and wipe it on the face and along the sides of the phone where we tend to hold it. Anytime that you took your cellphone and handed it to someone else and you get it back, find time to disinfect it for your own sake.
  • Many people in the clerical environment have a phone, keyboard, and mice on their desks. Simply take the basic disinfecting wipes and give these items a quick wipe before your day starts. If it is a shared desk, you may want to disinfect it each time you touch it.

Everyone is at risk because of Coronavirus. You can never be sure with this virus continuously posing a grave threat to you, your family, and your employees.

They are saying that this Pandemic had put tremendous stress on all types of industries. This is contrary to the cleaning business.

The cleaning industry had grabbed the fastest-growing industry after the Pandemic takes its toll on us—different opportunities open to growing your business.

Many cleaners who provide various cleaning services are not NDIS registered. NDIS cleaning is a small business currently because only a few people need this kind of service.

Depending on your needs and the plan that are available, you can use your NDIS fund to hire a cleaning service. If the disabled person is NDIA managed, he needs to find a cleaning service that is NDIS registered.

Apart from cleaning, many services accept NDIS funding, such as healthcare and early education.

What Type of Cleaning Does NDIS Cover?

The NDIS coverage depends on your NDIS plan or your specific individual circumstances. A person with a disability can check which services can be covered by inquiring through the NDIS support coordinator or their plan manager.

NDIS cleaning is often referred to as long as it falls under what is reasonable and necessary. NDIS cleaning services may be eligible for coverage if they are under NDIA-managed plans or self-managed plans.

What Can You Claim Under NDIS?

The following services may be funded by NDIS and are considered to be reasonable and necessary:

  • Modification on vehicle
  • Daily personal activities
  • Equipment for mobility
  • Transportation services for a disabled person to participate in community and economic life activities
  • Home modification and construction
  • Workplace assistance to allow a disabled person to get or keep employment
  • Help in maintaining the home environment
  • Therapeutic and behaviour support

Unfortunately, some services may not be funded. These are the following:

  • Responsibility for other government or community service
  • If the services are likely to cause harm to the person or will pose other risks to others
  • Services that are not related to the person with a disability
  • If the services are related to daily living costs and not associated with a person’s support needs

Commercial cleaners who provide NDIS cleaning services, make it a point to help people with disabilities in achieving their goals. Part of this goal is having an independent life. It is evident that domestic settings require different needs.

As an NDIS cleaner, you need to make sure that you are giving the highest quality service. You want these people to feel empowered and not to feel different.

Open communication is greatly encouraged by all service providers and cleaners to ensure that each cleaning visit is a success.

It is vital to find an NDIS – accredited service provider that you trust and who can deliver the quality work that you deserve.

This is also an effective way of expanding your cleaning business, venturing into the NDIS world may work wonders in your cleaning business as long as you hire reliable and trustworthy cleaners.
