History
Wetherill Park has been home to the aboriginal tribes from the Cabrogal clan of the Gandangara tribe for over 30,000 years now.
The suburb was named after a businessman who donated 21 acres of his property to form a park, which was later turned into a suburb.
The first school in the suburb, called ‘Macquarie Park’, was opened in May 1882 on the land donated by Samuel Booth. It was situated on the corner of Victoria and Daniel Streets and had 8 children at the time.

Wetherill Park is a suburb in New South Wales located about 34 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. On its north lies the famous Prospect Reservoir and its South boundary is formed by the suburbs of Bossley Park and Prairiewood.
Wetherill Park is served by the Transitway bus route T80, which connects the suburb to surrounding neighbourhoods.
